How To Help

Ever since we found out about Savannah's condition, people have been asking what they can do to help.  Right now all we can ask for is your love, support, and most of all, your prayers.
We will be updating this section with prayer requests as they arise.

Things you can be praying for:

     •  Pray that God would give us strength, and see us through each step of this journey

     •  Pray that Savannah would continue swallowing (A lot of times as the pregnancy progresses it is common for these types of babies to decrease their swallowing, which leads to a build up of amniotic fluid that can cause pre term labor)

     •  Pray that God would continue to surround us with caring friends and family.  As well as the ability to handle any adversity we might encounter

     •  Pray that God's will be done in ours and Savannah's life.  Our hope is in Him, and we can rest only on His promises

     •  Pray for our peace as we struggle to understand the full plan that God has set for us.  We know He has one, we just aren't sure how it fits together

     •  Pray that we can truly celebrate Savannah's life for the short time that she is with us

     •  Pray that we would be able to carry her to term, that I would go into natural labor, as well as be able to have a natural child birth and be able to spend as much time with our little girl as possible

Thank you again for all of your support!

  1. " Remember the former things, those long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please" Isaiah 46:9-10)

precious Father, I claim the promises in this verse for Rebecca and Josh and ask Lord that you help them remember all that you have already accomplished in their lives- all great and small, miraculous and amazing things, and do not let them sway in their desire to ask of you all that you are capable of; you are a big and mighty God, able to do immeasurably more than we can hope and imagine. Nothing derails your ultimate purposes; you know what is still to come and only you know what miracle, hope, and life giving power Savannah's sweet little life will bring and is already bringing! I love you Lord and I thank you for these two precious parents. Guide them and give them strength and your ever sustaining peace. We love you. Amen

Will continue to pray for you and your family through this time! Thank you for the blessing of sharing your story.

  4. Well I've stayed up way too late, but I couldn't stop reading about your journey. I first read your story on a DVIDS FB page, and I couldn't stop there so I googled your blog.

Rebecca you and your husband are a complete "Joy" and inspiration! Even in the hard reality of what you are facing you are choosing life. Jesus says in Jhn 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. You are giving Savannah an abundant life as she grows and lives within you. I'm sure this is only possible with the help, strength and guidance of Jesus Christ every day. Your zest for life and for sharing that with your unborn child has convicted me of my need to be aware of just how short our time here on earth really is and that I use this time to share wonderful times and memories with my children now! Thank you for your courage, for your love for Jesus and for sharing your walk through this. I know you will be blessed beyond measure because of your special little angel Savannah no matter how much time in minutes, hours or days she is with you physically. I will share your story with my family and we will pray for you, your husband and your family.

One more thing as I finished reading all your posts I thought of a book I read by Pamela Rosewell Moore called "Safer than a known way."

She has a quote at the beginning of the book...
"I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year: 'Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.' And he replied: 'Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way.' " she then ends her book with this "Only the Lord sees the end of my story. It is not in my control. But I do know this: when I surrender to Him, I am safer than if I had chosen a known way. Put your hand in Gods and let Him direct you into the unknown for He sees and knows All! HE knows the end of your story.
