Josh and I have been together for seven years and married for four. I am a nanny for two sweet little boys, and Josh is Active Duty Air Force. We always knew that we wanted to start our family young, and that when the time was right God would bless us with a little one. Before we even started trying we prayed for our future child, and God blessed us with a short wait. On January 26 we found out that we were expecting and we were full of joy. Even more so when we found out on April 5 that we were having a little girl, and we've named her Savannah! Fear crept in all to quickly, when on May 13 we found out that our sweet baby girl had anencephaly. But that is not the end of her story...
Our wonderful baby girl, Savannah Joy Hurtley, is full of life and we are helping her live it now! Even though she will not make her grand entrance until early October, she already has such a personality. She loves to wiggle around after mommy drinks juice, watching Big Bang Theory, and when her daddy reads her bedtime stories. :)
We started this blog as a way to sort out our thoughts, record memories, and share Savannah's story with friends, family, and anyone going through similar situations.
We serve a mighty God, and we know that this is part of his plan; this is not a mistake. In the midst of sadness we find our joy in Savannah, and in knowing that God chose us to carry and love her.
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb."
